Legal advice now available “En français”

 Avez-vous besoin de conseils juridiques dans les domaines suivants : logement (locataires seulement), d’aide sociale, Programme ontarien de soutien aux personnes handicapées, Assurance-emploi, ou Régime de pensions du Canada?  Des conseils juridiques gratuits en français sont maintenant disponibles au 1-87 POUR AVIS (1-877-867-2847).

 The Sudbury Community Legal Clinic is now offering a toll-free telephone advice and referral service to low income Franco-Ontarians residing in your area.  As one of four sites selected to provide a French Legal Advice Line, francophones can now benefit from free legal advice in the areas of law of Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program, housing (tenants only), Employment Insurance and Canada Pension Plan.

 Funded by Legal Aid Ontario, this pilot project is intended to complement the services already offered by the local Community Legal Clinics by making French legal advice services available throughout Ontario.  Since its launch in January 2010, francophone callers have been pleased with this new service, indicating that “the service is excellent”, “very useful service” and “the information was relayed clearly”.

 French speaking callers are encouraged to contact the French Legal Advice Line at 1-87 POUR AVIS (1-877-687-2847) to speak to a Legal Advice Worker between Monday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Time).  Additional information about this new service is available at http://www.legalaid.on.ca/en/contact/flapp.asp
